REBEL CHIEF'S PROSPECTS. ADDITIONS TO TEAMS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. Training operations at Kiccarton have had another check this week. Light ram fell early in the week, culminating in a heavy fall on Wednesday night, while this morning was showery. As a result there was no grass track open, useful pacing on the sand being the general rule. Kebel Chief was among those who tlui only useful exercise, but as he was galloped the previous day he should be in good order for his race at Ashburton. Colossian and Madam Pompadour may miss their .Ashburton engagements, as they are not considered ready after doing so little work lately. Monastic jumped eight steeplechase fences this morning at a fair pace, giving a good display. Battle Queen has been schooled twice this week, jumping six fences well on each occasion . F Christmas has had an addition to his team, to be trained for Mr. D. H. Roberts. This is a well grown youngster by Dolomite from Miss Bradbury, a useful Paper Money mare. Dolomite, who is at the stud on the West Coast, is an imported horse by Poramern, Landru, a four-year-old gelding b> Shambles from Love in the Mist, is the latest addition to J. S. Shaw s team. When trained by F. D. Jones he carried the colours of his owner, Mr. G. H. Grigg, in a race at Trentham in January, but has been spelling since then.
