WEATHER FORECAST.

1 " ' FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Tauranga, Kavvhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to strong northerly to northwesterly winds, backing later to southwest. Weather unsettled, with intermittent rain. Temperatures becoming colder. Seas rough on east coa.'it, ' moderate, but later rising on west'coast. A deep cyclono is centred west of Auckland, and moving slowly southeastwards. At the same time a very deep westerly depression extends right across the south Tasman Sea. HA'URAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received irom Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind nor'-nor'-west, fresh; sea moderate, rough off shore; weather overcast, with misty rain setting in from the north and west; visibility fair; barometer falling. WJffANGAREI RECORDINGS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. The barometer has dropped over 60 points in Whangarei. in the past 24 hours, and this morning stood at the lowest point it has reached for several months. Between six and seven o'clock this morning it stood at 29.56, and shortly after 10 o'clock at 29.30. Last night a further storm swept over town and district, accompanied by an electrical disturbance. For the 24 hours ended 6 a.m. to-day, 1.54 inches of rain had been recorded and to-day there was further rain at intervals. The rain v last night was accompanied by a heavy wind from the north-west, but no damage has been reported.
