FAR EAST SITUATION.
SINO-JAPANESE TENSION. LONDON, June 16. Yesterday Dr. Quo Tai-chi, Chinese Ambassador, interviewed the Foreign Minister, Sir Samuel Hoare, and declared that his Government had gone to the utmost in the way of concessions to Japan\ in connection with the situation in North China, where it was alleged Japanese troops had encroached on the demilitarised zone. Sir Samuel assured the Ambassador that the situation was receiving serious consideration. The Foreign Secretary is expected to make a statement in the House of Commons on Monday in reference to the situation in China. It is understood that the Government is in communication with the United States and other Powers interested. *
