EMPIRE SERVICE.

IN CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL. (Received 0.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 16. The Prime Ministers of the Dominions now visiting London, prelates, including the Archbishop of Melbourne, and other representatives of the Empire, crowded the nave of Canterbury Cathedral at the first service to be broadcast throughout the Empire, which was begun by the pealing of bells and the Royal Engineers' Band playing homeland airs. The Primate, Dr. Cosmo Gordon Lang, read a message from the Prince of Wales recalling happy recollections of his visits to various parts of the Empire. After that 92 bronze crosses were dedicated for distribution among Empire cathedrals, also one each for New York and San Francisco.
