COMMUNISTS BLAMED
Railways Forced to Carry Unemployed. JOURNEY TO OTTAWA. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 2 p.m.) OTTAWA, June 13. The Government has ordered the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at Regina to remove from freight trains and intern in camp 2000 relief camp deserters. After creating riotous disturbances in Vancouver for six weeks these men have been compelling train crews to transport them across country to Ottawa. They are expected to reach Regina to-day.
The Government order to the police to halt the trek of the relief camp strikers to Ottawa was vigorously assailed in the House of Commons by the Radical Commonwealth Opposition members.
The Minister of Justice, Mr. Gutlirie, in reply, stated that the march from Vancouver was organised by Communists to disturb the peace. The railways had demanded protection from 1200 men. compelling free transportation on freight trains. The men had remained camped outside the ' police zone.
