STATEMENT OF 3>EFENCEL

In the case in which a legal firm is being sued by a waterside worker, the statement of defence claims that the plaintiff appointed the clerk Carvosso, as his attorney, and that whatever was done was done by Carvoseo as attorney, for which liis employers , are not liable. At the conclusion of the plaintiff's case, Mr. Justice Johnston pointed out the necessity of a statement of accounts being prepared. A legal firm had undertaken the keeping of plaintiff's estate, and it was the duty of the firm to prepare such a statement.
The Court adjourned to enable counsel representing the parties to confer regarding the taking of accounts. The judge stated that this would be required, unless there was substantial agreements on various items.
The claim, which is made by Thomas firey, waterside worker, is one for £590 3/3. The defendant solicitors are Willinm Hughes' Field, Martin Maxwell Fleming ' Luckie, and Edgar Charles Wiren. Another defendant is Rupert Frank Carvosso, a law clerk in the firm's employ. The claim is made in connection with an account held by the plaintiff with the defendant firm.
