N.Z.E.F. VETERANS.

WAIKATO MEN'S UNION. The 16th Waikato N.Z.E.F. Veterans' Association held a smoke concert in the Foresters' Hall, Albert Street, on Saturday evening. There was an attendance of about 50 members, over which Mr. C. W. O'Hara presided. He said it was the intention of the association to hold more of these functions in the near future, and he hoped more members would avail themselves of the opportunity. To enable impoverished members to attend such reunions, a collection was taken up.

During the evening the following toasts were honoured: "The Regiment," Mr. G. A. Tuck, responded to by Mr. Spragg of the territorial unit; "The Ladies," by JNlr. Keegan, responded to on behalf of the ladies by Mr. Don; "Absent Comrades, by Mr. N. R. W. Thomas, secretary. Musical items were rendered by Messrs. 4ustin, Black, Morris, Spragg and Hicks.
