SOCIAL AT MANGERE.

The Mangere Bowling and Croquet, Clubs combined for their annual social ' and presentation of prizes on Saturday evening, when progressive bridge and 500 were, played, Mrs. Jackson and Mr. J. M. Key winning the bridge, while Mrs. E. Knight and Mrs. E. J. Webb were the successful 500 players. After supper I Mr. J. Somers, president of the Bowling Club, and Mrs. A. L. Newson, president of the Croquet Club, extended welcomes and then presented the trophies of their respective clubs to the various winners. During the evening Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Newson, who are leaving the district this week, were the recipients of presentations in recognition of their assistance to the district and bowling and croquet clubs in particular. Among those present were: Mesdames A. E. Newson, W. W. Massey, A. Hcnwood, W. A. Key, E. H. Solomon, W. Penman, K. Chapman, S. W. House, Jackson, Burns, R. Ellison, Hickson, Saussey, F. Phesant, 'E. Knight, Dobel," Pirrie, E. J. Webb, J. Tait, G. Laslett and Misses Petrie, B. Key, I. Solomon, and O. Olsen.
