GLEN EDEN HOUSE BURNED
A five-roomed house in View Road, Glen Eden, was burned to the ground on Saturday night in the absence of ils owner and occupier, Mrs. V. J. Crowther. Mrs. Crowther had left home about 7 p.m. and it was not until she was returning about 11 p.m. that she was informed that her house had been destroyed. . The fire, which was stated 1.0 have occurred about an hour earlier, had a strong hold before it was discovered, and little could be done. The house was insured in the New Zealand- Insurance Company, the j amounts being £300 on the house and: ■ L £2oo on the furniture. '
