A few little grey squirrels arrived in Britain 50 years ago from California. To-day their offspring cost thousands of pounds a year in damage to farmers and fruitgrowers. The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to try to exterminate the pests, and has issued thousands of letters asking that squirrels should be shot on sight. "These little grey squirrels whicli look so pretty, are actually among the most cold-hearted murderers known, saw a Ministry official.
