Colonel F. Symon, Director of Artillery, is visiting Auckland. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, is at the Station Hotel, Mr. W. F. Sinclair has been appointed a member of the Tauranga Harbour Board. Mr. P. C. Webb, M.P. for Buller, arrived yesterday morning, and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. Paavo Simelius, of Sydney, has been appointed Consul for Finland in New Zealand. Sir Alexander Young, who is visiting Auckland, leaves again for Wellington by the Limited to-morrow night. Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., of Marton, has been appointed chairman of the Government Railways Appeal Board. Mr. G. H. Mackley, General Manager of Railways, arrived from Wellington yesterday, and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. C. G. Macindoe. chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, returned fro.a Wellington by the Limifed this morning. Mr. E. C. Hands, manager of the SJ.Z. Broadcasting Board, is at the Gr.and Hotel. He is to leave again for Wellington to-night.

Lieutenant-Commander G. St. A/ Alcock, staff officer of the Naval Board, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. The Hon. J. G. Cobbe, who arrived,in Auckland yesterday, is at the Grand Hotel. He is to leave for Wellington on Wednesday evening. Mr. J. A. McLean, of Dargaville, chairman of the North Auckland Power Board, will leave by the Limited express to-night for Wellington in connection with business of the board. Professor R. H. Laurence-Toole, of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, who has made many visits to Auckland, left Sydney for England by the Orsova on the first stage of a world tour. Sir Keith Smith, of Sydney, representative of Vickers (Aviation), Ltd., arrived from Wellington yesterday to see the trials of the Vickers Vildebeest bombing 'planes at Hobsonville Aerodrome, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. He expects to sail for Sydney by the Wanganella from Wellington on Thursday. i 4
