BASKETBALL DANCE.
In order to celebrate the opening of the Taupaki Basketball Club a dance was held in the Public Hall on Wednesday evening. The girls had decorated the hall with their club colours, black and white, and punga ferns and palms added to the beauty of the scene. An orchestra from Auckland supplied the latest dance music, and also included iu its programme many old time numbers. Visitors from clubs in the surrounding districts included those from Kumeu, Hobsonville, Henderson, Swanson, Waitakere and Auckland. Members of the Taupaki Club served an excellent supper and dancing was enjoyed until midnight. Mr. A. Giles, who was in charge of the programme arrangements, thanked all those present who 'aad assisted in making the evening such an outstanding success.
