Mabee, at o p.m. next Friday. At the same time entries are due for the Great Northern Trotting Derby 1930. STABLE AND TRACK NOTES IN FIRST-RATE CONDITION. Emancipation has been schooled over hurdles at Ellerslie twice recently, and on each occasion his displays have left little to be desired. In company with Wee Fat and Chile yesterday morning lie gave a first-class exhibition over five hurdles on the course proper. His performance is sure to gain him additional friends for his engagement in the Great Northern Hurdles, an event he has been placed in twice during the last two years. J. W. Cathro has this jumper in the pink of condition. SHOULD BE IN THE MONEY. ' Scotch Nation has not raced since the Waikato meeting hist March, but his form earlier in the season was good, his last win being in the Grey Handicap, one mile, on the final, day of the Auckland summer meeting. morning at Ellerslie lie registffled a go(>d effort over six furlongs, and; appeared to handle the going well. N. McKenzie, who rode him to victory in Handicap, will be on him again on IVjJtaday, and if he races up to his previous SujSfl. he looks like being in the money. TSr WILL BE HARD TO BEAT. Monanui was given a workout over six furlongs at Erierslie yesterday morning, and, although the- time registered was not particularly fast, she moved attractively, and could have improved considerably on the time. She looks really well and has evidently done a solid preparation for her Cornwall Handicap engagement. At the last Auckland meeting she woij the Nolan Cup, one mile and a half, in heavy ground, beating a first-class field, and on that showing she is likely to be one of the hardest to beat on Monday. R. Home will probably be her pilot. HAS GOOD PROSPECTS. Kilmuir has two engagements at Ellerslie nn Monday, being accepted for in the Penrose and Great Northern Hurdles, though he is a doubtful starter in the latter event. He has been in the money several times in hack hurdle events, aim at the recent Auckland autumn meeting was second in the St. Hclier's Hurdle Race to London. He is an improved horse since then and shaped well in a schooling task on the course proper at Ellerslie yesterday morning. Kilmuir handles heavy going well and appears to be a good prospect for !i minor hurdle event at the meeting. ENGAGED IN BOTH NORTHERNS. Master Musk is engaged in both the cheat Northern Hurdles and Steeplechase rt Ellerslie next week, and he looks a much better prospect in the former after liis display over the big fences on the flat it Ellerslie yesterday. Commencing over the sodwall, he jumped this obstacle very awkwardly and then repeatedly refused at the first fence of the double, with the -esult that lie was not persevered with as i 'chaser. Later, however, lie went over 'our hurdles in the centre and got through lis task. in good style. This horse is a ;ood stayer and has run some good races wer hurdles recently, being third in the Brighton Hurdles and third in the Te Suiti Hurdles.
