ONLOOKER'S VIEWPOINT.

RUGBY REP. PLAYERS. Respecting the Rugby representative selections, a correspondent, "Goalpost," writes:— "The A.R.U. selector's choice of 33 players to train shows two things: (1) A certain amount of 'V. R. Meredith ' selection; (2) a rather pronounced 'hit and misspolicy for the rest of the selections. Even for the members of his second fifteen, one misses the names of consistently good players in Killecn, Wales, Brimble. Sherwood, Storey. Constable, and Drake. Killecn is definitely the best inside back in Auckland in spite of the fact that Solomon and Hedge have been chosen for the trial game. There must be something unknown to the general public behind the non-selection of this brilliant player. In the interest of the game, therefore, I would ask you to bring the following before the A.R.U. and the general public: That the A.R.U, stage a challenge match between the fifteen selected below and the official Auckland A or I? team. The challenge team to be coached by Messrs. L. Knight (forwards) and L. Heazlcwood (backs). One wonders whether the A.R.U. selector has sufficient faith in his 38 selected players to accept the challenge. It is conceivable that it might help him with his future selections. My challenge team would be: Kirk (College Kiflcs), Lewis ('Varsity). Wales (Colleee Rifles). FraserSmith (Marist),. Killeeu (Grafton), Brimble (Manukau), Hadfield (Manukau), Drake ('Varsity), Don (Grammar). .Tensen ('Varsity), Constable (Manukau). Kereopa (Manukau), Hardie (Grafton), Sherwood ('Varsity). Storev (Grafton). Emergences: Paton (full-back). Spittal (wine), Slyfield (five-eighth), Thompson (half). Evans, Gillet, Benjamin, Jury, Bunting (forwards)."

Another correspondent, "Fair Go," writes commending Fulton, of Manukau. to the special attention of the Auckland senior selector, as an inside back of the rugged, straight-running type, comparable with some of the champions of the past.
