MUSSOLINI ACCEPTS ARBITRATION.

ABYSSINIA DISPUTE.

Last-Minute Acceptance of Compromise Terms. GENEVA CONVERSATIONS. (British OQleial Wireless.) (Received 1 p.m.) GENEVA, May 24. Signor Mussolini at the last minute has agreed to refer to an arbitration commission the disputes responsible for the Itaiian-Abyssinian tension, while another commission will consider frontier delimitation. The terms of compromise embody reaffirmation of the arbitration clause of the 1928 treaty and the fixing of a time limit for the meeting of the conciliation council in August if arbitration fails. A British official wireless message stated that in the private conversations conducted between the British, French and Italian delegates scrior.s difficulties were encountered. The subject was on the agenaa of the League Council for to-day's meeting, but consideration was postponed. In an earlier message the "Daily Mail" Geneva correspondent said that the Italians were awaiting a reply from Korao regarding Abyssinia, which was expected to contain a decision whether !it was to be peace or war. Telegrams from Rome had warned the League of Nations that it must not meddle in the matter until arbitration had failed to secure a reconciliation. Reports from Cairo state that an agreement has been reached between Italy and Egypt whereby Italian aeroplanes will be permitted to fly over Egypt for six months. This will enable them to reach Italian Somali land in four days from Rome. A regular service is to be'inaugurated shortly.
