TOTALISATOR METHODS.
MR. KELLY'S INVESTIGATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Wellington Racing Club officials were astonished to read to-day the cable message from Sydney regarding an interview with Mr. J. A. Kelly, who was stated to be studying totalieator methods at Randwick. "Mr. Kelly has no authority from the Wellington Racing Club to make any investigations on its behalf," etatce Mies D. E. Bray, secretary ot the club, "nor to make any statements which might be construed as being the opinion of the club." The message from Sydney stated that Mr. J. A. Kelly, or tiie Wellington Racing Club, New Zealand, was studying totalieator inethods at Randwick in order to ascertain whether there are any improvements which could be applied in Wellington. Mr. Kelly told an interviewer that he thought it quite likely that bookmakers would make their appearance on New Zealand courses shortly, as several clubs favoured the idea. Mr. Kelly added that racing in the Dominion was in BIICU a state that at least 100 horses would be «ent to Australia for the spring campaigns in New South Wales and Victoria.
