Jn the Kaukapakapa riding good progress was being made with the work on the Waitangi, l'unganui, Kanohi and Makarau Bridges. Kegarding the Auckmain highway, a preliminary investigation hud been put in band for a deviation extending from Henderson Town Board boundary to Mount Rex, and if free money were available from the Main Highways Board for the work a start would be made during the coming season. On the Auekland-Helensvflle main highway it was proposed this year to put the following reconstruction works in hand:— Anderson's deviation to Kumeu, Waimauku Bridge to Waimauku, Waimauku deviation, and a small portion extending from Keweti station to the riding boundary. It was also proposed to put in hand construction works extending from the Kumeu riding boundary to Woodhill. This would eliminate the greater part of the Hooding on this road. In the l'ukeatua riding it was proposed to put in hand a deviation near Poynton's homestead, and also reconstruct Dairy Bridge. At Takapuna, if moneys were available during the coming season, reconstruction works would be put in band from Aberdeen Road to Brown's Bay. At Titirangi a start on the Huia Bridge would be made in about a fortnight, or immediately after the completion of Boyd's Bridge in the Waitakere riding. In the Waitakere riding it was intended to put in hand during the coming season the reconstruction of Lincoln Bridge to the top of Colwill's Hill, and the reconstruction of Tobacco Farms to Brigham'e Creek Bridge.
