PLUMBERS' WAGES.
SOUTH ISLAND DISPUTE

DUNEDIN, Thursday.
The hearing of an application by the Master Plumbers' Association for an award covering Otago, Canterbury and Southland wan commenced by a conciliation council to-day. An agreement was reached in all respects, except that of wages. The employers desire separate rates for registered and unregistered men. and asked that this and the whole auestion of wanes be referred to the Arbitration Court.
The unions' assessors declined to agree to this course, and the proceedings were adjourned until to-morrow.
