"FLYING DOCTOR."
Fine for Endangering Public
Safety at Darwin.
LONG DISTANCE URGENT CALLS (Received 11 a.m.) DARWIN, this day. For having endangered public safety by low flying over Darwin Dr. Clyde Cornwall Fenton, the "flying doctor," was fined £20, with £0 15/ C costs. A stay of proceedings was granted.
On Sunday Dr. Fenton flew over 100 miles to attend a mm, who was seriously ill, and since his license was suspended he has made eight flights, four of which were in response to urgent calls.
Dr. Fenton's license was suspended by the Darwin representative of the Civil Aviation Department for low flying on April 20, and the certificate of airworthiness for his 'plane was also suspended following stunting over the town.
