NORTHCOTE HIGH SCHOOL.
The constitution of the committee of the Northcote District High School for the ensuing year has been finalised by the appointment of one representative each by the five committees of the associated primary schools. These are:—Messrs. H. Shaw (Northcote), F. Tothill (Birkenhead), T. M. Shepherd (Birkdalc), G. C. Butt (Glenfield) and A. Hocking (Albany). The other four members elected by the parents of pupils are:—Mrs. V. M. Blake, Messrs. H. W. Lamb, A. E. Greenslade and F. P. Tack. The newly-constituted committee met last evening, when Mr. Harry Shaw was re-elected chairman, and Mr. T. G. Evans secretary and treasurer. It was reported that the roll number of the intermediate department was 242.^ in addition to 100 at the high school. The percentage of pupils able to swim had risen substantially of late, and 154 further certificates had been awarded. A school carnival is to be held to raiso funds for improvements to the grounds.
