LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

AFFAIRS OF REFEREES. At its meeting last evening the Auckland Rugby League Referees' Association, with Mr. L. E. Bull presiding, decided to advise the board that referees would be pleased to attend club training for the purpose of further explaining the amended rules, provided the association received official letters from the clubs making arrangements.

A complaint that a junior team had players wearing prohibited boot sprigs was referred to the junior management committee. Jt was pointed out that the Auckland League had mliseussed the matter of bakclite and aluminium sprigs and had raised no objection to their use, provided the sprigs were not chipped or dangerous in the opinion of the referees. The chairman said that the association had received no official advice from the board, which should be asked for its ruling. This was carried. Executive changes were confirmed as follow:— Treasurer, air. A. Chapman; auditor, Mr. B. Emirali. Mr. T. Evans was •ulded to the committee. Messrs. A. Lennie and A. Farrcll were elected new members and given a hearty welcome. Mr, Freeman Thompson was nominated for membership. A donation was received from a vicepresident, Mr. J. Pennington, and a trophy from Mr. S. Jackson.
