RAISED FROM HARBOUR.
MOTOR CAB DAMAGED,
The motor car. the property of Major A. H. Wilkie, of Beresford Street, Bayswater, which ran into the harbour near the Bayswater wharf about 11 o'clock yesterday morning, was recovered yesterday afternoon about 4.30. Extensive damage had resulted, not only because of the immersion. A front wheel had been broken off, apparently when the ear ran down the embankment. The vehicle had run more than 20ft from where it had been parked, and then had travelled down an embankment 12ft high between the boat lockers and where the old Condor lies. When the car was raised, it was found to be in reverse gear, with the brakes on. The lights Were also switched on.
