STATE INVESTITURE.
TITLES AND DECORATIONS.
GOVERNMENT HOUSE PARTY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The Governor-General, Lord Galway, held an investiture and reception at Government House to-night, at which he presented to Sir Percy Rolfe Sargood, of Dunedin, the Royal letters patent conferring upon him the degree and title of Knight Bachelor. His Excellency also presented to PaymasterCommander Richard Francis Durman, R.N., the insignia of officer of the military division of the Order of the British Empire.
Other decorations presented by His Excellency were:—
Polar medal, Mr. Ritchie G. Simmers, for services as a member of the British, Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition of 1929-31. Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration.—The Rev. H. N. Wright, chaplain to the Forces; Captain W. F. C. Balham and Captain J. A. Duffy. Efficiency Decoration.—The Rev. A. J. Petrie, chaplain to the Forces; the Rev. D. D. Scott, chaplain to the Forces; Colonel F. T. Bowerbank, 0.8. E.; Lieutenant-Colonel Gerald Lyon, M.C.; Major D. A. C. Lilburne; Major A. J. M. Maneon, M.C.; Major F. S. Varnliam, M.C.
