JUBILEE BALL.

AUCKLAND RUGBY LEAGUE

PAGEANT OF COLOUR. There was an animated scene at the Peter Pan Cabaret last evening, when the Auckland Rugby League held its Silver Jubilee Commemoration Ball in honour of His Majesty King George V., Supreme Patron of Rugby League Football. The cabaret was specially decorated for the occasion, the whole being a pleasing spectacle with the red, white and blue streamers, intermingled with the various senior clubs'colours. Pictures of Their Majesties King George and Queen Mary, framed in red, white and blue, were conspicuous in the decorative scheme, together with the Union Jack, the New Zealand Ensign, and the Cross of St. George. The supper tables were distinctive with decorations of (lowers in autumn tonings, with green foliage set in tall crvstal vases.

Mr. G. Grey Campbell (chairman of the Auckland Rugby League), together with Mrs. Ivan Culpan (chairman of the ladies' committee of the A.R.L.), received the guests, Mrs. Culpan being attired in a charming frock of midnight blue silk marocain, relieved with brown crystals. The energetic ladies' committee were fully represented, and great praise is due to them for the success of this function.
