TO-MORROW'S ATTRACTIONS.
PONSONBY PLAY MARISTS
The feature of the League football at Carlaw Park to-morrow afternoon will be the first appearance this season of the Ponsonby Club. This team last year provided some sparkling games, and were particularly dangerous when the opposition permitted them to use their pace. This year they expect, by greater strength in the forwards, to be able to exploit their asset of pace in the backs. To-morrow Ponsonby will be tried out in the 3 o'clock game against Marist Old Hoys, who opened the season last week with a draw against Devonport. The curtain-raiser will be provided by City and Devonport.' As the latter team showed unexpected strength against Marists last week, while City had to strike their colours to the new Mount Albert team, to-morrow's matches will give a general line to enthusiasts on the merits of at least five of the seven teams in the championship competition.
