BEAUTIFYING HAMILTON.

HAMILTON, this clay. The Hamilton Beautifying Society Inst jiiglit resolved to ask the Borough Council for an increased subsidy to enable its tree planting scheme to be consummated.
Dr. 11. Douglas pointed out that the society had already lined 30 miles of streets with trees, 1800 of which were planted. To protect trees extra labour
■would -be necessary.
