CONTRACT AT 11/ A STKOKE.

ilm Joyce Withered, the famous English woman golf champion, leaves for America next month to play a sent* of professional matches, for which she will be paid at the rate of about 11/ a Stroke. She will receive a minimum ot , £1200 for her two and a half tnoMiu tour. "I shall play three or four lb-holt nftehes a week for eight to ten weeks she said. "For each match I shall re ceive £40." This is equivalent to "P H-kinuUely £2 4/ a hole, an,about 11/ a stroke. In addition she avill receivetwo fifths of the "gate" receipts.
