BONDHOLDERS' DEMAND.
S.-W. AFRICA QUESTION. WINDHOEK (S.-W. Africa), Feb. 24. A demand for about £11,000,000 has been presented to the Government of South-west Africa by the legal representatives of the bondholders in a scries of pre-war German loans, raised for the development of the former German colonies, the particular issues referring to South-west Africa being those of 1010, 1911, 1913 and 1914.
The bondholders claim that the present Government, as the successor of the former German administration, is responsible- for the loans, and have formed themselves into a company to carry on their dispute. It is expected that the Government will deny liability and that a summons will then bo issued in tho High Court of South-west Africa on behalf of the bondholders. This is likely to be 'followed bv long and costly litigation, as both sides appear determined to fight to tho last ditch. —Renter.
