TO NANA'S FRIENDS

Jcar Little Ones,— Toot-toot! Toot! Toot-tool! Toot! There was a terrible honking and clatter in the road the other day, then a screeching of brakes, and a big bus pulled to a stop. All this noise and fuss because a little kitten was lying sound asleep in the middle of die road. Such a dear little kitten it was, too —black, with one little white paw, and big grey eyes. It woke up with a funny lonely little miaow and a startled flutter of those soft eyes, and then sped across the road as quickly as a very wee kitten can. I wonder where it went to? I wonder if it belonged to some little boy or girl who wilj read this letter? I hardly think so, because I know that those little boys and girls would be kind to their pets and not let mem stray out into the roads, which are dangerous for animals just as they are for boys and girls. I expect it was just one of those poor lonely wee homeless things. Keep a kindly watch over your pets, won't you, boys and girls, and remember they are dependent upon you for their life. Love from NANA.
