MOUNT EDEN CARNIVAL.
The Mount Eden Amateur Swimming Club will hold its third carnival in the Tepid Baths next Tuesday evening. In addition to the 50yds and 100 yds championships of the club, and the 500 yds inter-club relay race, the following handicap events will be decided :—44oyds Cucksey Cup handicap, 50yds open, 100 yds breaststroke, GO 2-3 yds ladeis, 50yds junior boys, 100 yds Fraser Cup handicap tor junior boys, 50yds Mount Eden ladies, 33 l-.'Syds tiny-tot boys, 33 l-3yds tiny-tot girls.
A parly of swimmers from the AVhangarel Club will bo competing at the carnival, and a team will take part in a special relay race against the Mount Eden Club. An open (living competition will also be contested, as well as four primary schools' relay championships, the trophies for these being the Nicholson and Stevenson Shields and two Herbert Smith cups. In the 100 yds championship of the Mount Eden Club H. B. Frankbam, the Auckland sprint champion, will endeavour to lower the New Zealand record of 555.
The Whangarei team for the relay is:— W. Morris, It. Wilton, li. Belcher, N. Chissell, B. Bradley, P. Reynolds, I. Con way. F. Collins, K. Foote and Miss B: Orr, a student at St. Cuthbert's College.
