LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
PAPAKURA CLUB. Tlie nnnu.il meeting of the Papakura Rugbv League Pool bull Club was hold last evening. Mr. S. H. Godden presided over an attendance of 45. Amongst those present were Mr. D. Wilkie, chairman of the Junior Control Board, and Mr. I. Stonex, member of the board. A satisfactory advancement was reported in the iinnuai statement. The club entered five tenjnH in the Auckland Rugby League's competitions, the membership having increased from about 70 players the previous season to over 100 last year. In addition the club had 29 honorary members. Although the club gained only the second grade knockout trophy, the Wright Cup all teams made a. satisfactory showing. The second grade team's showing in the Roope Rooster-com-petition definitely proved that the local standard of football was good. The balance-sheet revealed a credit of about i..). The Aitclieson Medal. for the most improved player in the fourth grade team, was won by It. Aucken. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. E. C. Foote; president Mr. S. 11. Godden ; viee-presiuents, Messrs. Les McVoagh. C. Chamberlain, C. N. Spencer, H. Pollock, and K. Eanigan , executive committee, Messrs. L. J. Gray, Ees. McVeagil, G. Wilson. Spencer, and Pollock; club captain. Mr. Win. Coriithalte; treasurer, Mr. Ron. Walsh: social committee, Messrs. 10. Ashby, T. Wilson. W. Elliott, J. Mclnnes, Hawley, and Ray Richardson; grounds committee, Messrs. A. Hill, \\ . Martin, A. McVcagh, and Whelan ; lion, doctors, Dr. G. W. Lock, and Dr. 11. Burrell; auditor. Mr. I. Wilson. The secretary is to be elected by the new executive. The lirst practice is to take place on Saturday, March 30.
