PONSONBY UNITED CLUB. The twenty-fifth annual report of the PoiiHonby United Rugby League Footbnll Club, adopted cnthueiusticitTly ;it the iiiimml meeting held at tlie Leys Institute, Ponsonby. la.st evening, expressed .sali.sfaction with progress made last season. The club counted itself fortunate in having ii young and clever first thirteen, which did remarkably well to win seven out of I>"> matches. Mr. Longbottoin was selector, Mr. K. DelgrosHO coach and the side was capably led by L. Hutt. Mr. T. Taylor gave valuable assistance as coach of the reserve team. The third open team, in charge of Mr. Raynes, von the knockout with credit. The third intermediate end fourth grade teams also performed welL Six senior players won representative honours. Donors of trophies and officers were thanked for their services. Reference was made to the passing of an old club player and worker, Mr. Artie Cai'law (late of Christchureh). The work of the treasurer, Mr. E. C. McEwan, in the artistic decoration of the club's room at Carlaw Park was referred to appreciatively. Officers were elected as follow:—Patron, Mr. A. H. McKeown; president. Mr. S. McDonald; lion, secretary. Mr. H. Pliilbuiii; lion, treasurer, Mr. E. C. McEwan; committee. Messrs. A. Mclntyre, N. D. Culpan, B. Anderson, N. Bass and A. Lane; auditors, Messrs. Ivan Culpan and A. F. Knowling; club captain, V. Fagan. Vice-presidents were re-elected, with power to add. On the recommendation of the outgoing committee, L. Hutt was appointed playercoach of the senior team. The president. Mr. S. McDonald, in presenting.W. Stockley with a medal given by Mr. J. Arneil, jun.. for most sportsmanlike player, congratulated the recipient.
