After smashing a window of Allan Doggett's jewellery shop in Prahran, the busiest suburban shopping centre in Melbourne last night, one of two thieves who stole three trays of diamond rings valued at £200, fired two shots at Sidney Brearley, a shop assistant, and wounded him in the foot. The thieves then escaped in a car.
