TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph.— S&oclal to "Stnr.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Milling whs more active at this morning's call, the general tendency being in buyers' favour. Sales of investment stocks showed a firm tone, an exception being Tooth's, which, reacting to a cable indicating a Court decision against the company in the matter of the conduct of an agency, dropped sharply to business at 1/2 lower. The market dosed between £2 7/7 and £2 8/. compared with last business at £2 9/. National Bank of New Zealand was quoted on a weaker market. D Mortgage and Reserve looked stronger, buyers appearing at £1 12/1 and £6 10/ respectively. Miscellaneous issues were again firm without much business. Tn New Zealand Drug an odd parcel was placed at a Fractional fall, further unsupported sellers offering at £3 19/6. Beath's looked stronger between £1 10/ and £1 12/6- Most mining business was put through at slightly easier levels, Gillespie's and Goldfields Dredging each showing a decline of l%d.
