AUCKLAND CONTROL BOARD
NEW SENIOR B GRADE
At the meeting of the Auckland Rugby League Board of Control -last evening, when Mr. G. Grey Campbell presided, a welcome was extended to Mr. J. C. McLaren, of Kandcs, a member of the NewSouth Wales Rugby League, who has completed a tour of New Zealand, and said ho was very impressed with the prospects, gathered from officials in various parte of the Dominion. He said the code was booming in the country districts of his State, and it was hoped to 6end a strong team to New Zealand in the near future, and to have a reciprocal visit. The chairman said that the matter of the number of teams in the senior division, arising from the application for admission by the Mount Albert United Club, would be a subject of report at next meeting. It was decided, in addition to the first and reserve grades, to create a senior B grade for the coming season, the details being referred to a special committee to elaborate conditions for consideration "by an early meeting of the board. The chairman said the proposal, a result of the clubs' conference held late last year, was in the general interests of the game. A communication from the Friendly Road Broadcasting Station was referred to the incoming committee. It was reported that the Richmond Rovers Club had recommended the appointment of a sole Auckland' selector for this season.
