THE BULLFROGS
(By Mary Davoren, Manakau Road, I'ukokolie.) Once upon ;i time, out in sunny Africa, there lived a big bullfrog. His coat was a bright green covered all over with knobs of black. lie was an ugly fellow, but Sirs. Froz loved him. They had a little watery home among the reeds which grew beside a small stream, which, in Africa, is called sluit. It was all damp ano. muddy, but the Bullfrog family were vor.y happy. There were ever so many baby frogs, and thty played hide-and-seek in the wet grass. One day Mr. Bullfrog went out and he came home in a great hurry. "Children," lie said, "I saw a big ox conic to water to drink, so you must stay at home for fear he treads upon you." .So the little frogs stayed at home and their father went out again; but he could not see the big ox anywhere, so he went back home and said: "You can go and play now, children, the ox has gone!" So the baby frogs played hide-and-seek once more in the wet grass beside the sluit, and were as happy as the day was long.
