The opening of the season was fixed for next Saturday, when a mixed foursomes competition will be played. < ' The report stated that the membership had remained steady, an increase In the men . members compensating toi a. »»f™ falling off in the numbers ot the ladies. Extensive improvements had been made to the course, particularly with regard to the bunkers and fairways. The balance-sheet showed an excess of income over expenditure of ill>b, but the expense involved 'in improvements to the course, totalling f«74, had resulted In a loss on the season's workings. The winners of the championships were Open winter title, G. Bias (Akaniuu) Men: Senior, F. Hazelden; intermediate V Shorter; junior, K. li. Bayley. Liidies : Senior, Miss K. Holly; junior Mrs. C. Camniick ; C grade, Mrs. V. Hart. AUCKLAND CLUB. The report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Auckland Golf Club on April C states that the membership at .the close of the past season was «4S, whicli represents a decrease of 16 on .that ot the previous year. The analysis is .— Playing members, 173; playing youths, 21 limited members, r>o; country members, lj■; non-playing members, 4-t; life members, 5 ; boy members, 43. _ The" balance-sheet shows an improvement In the dub's financial position. After making a liberal allowance for depreciation the accounts show an excess of revenue for the year. A new water heating system was installed nt a cost ot *14U. The principal prize-winners lor the season were : Club championship, IS. (j. Thomson; runner-up. \V. N; Abbott; intermediate championship. R. D Ilorton; runner-up, S. S.
