SEAMEN WALK ASHORE.

REMANDED IN CUSTODY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Three members of the crew of the Anglo Canadian, Harold McKenzie, aged 52, seaman; James Morrison, aged 51, boatswain; and Joseph Blanche, aged 46, ship's carpenter, appeared in the Police Court to-day on a charge <2 absenting themselves from their ship without leave. They were remanded in custody, the magistrate directing that they should be placed 011 board the vessel just before she sails to-morrow.

Tile captain said the men bccame a "little bit loose" at Timaru, and the ship sailed without them. He had them brought to Wellington where they arrived yesterday morning, but again went ashore without leave. Something had to lie done about the matter, and he would appreciate it if the men could be taken care of until to-morrow and then sent on board the ship.
