AUDACIOUS THEFT.
FURNITURE AND GOODS
SOUTHERN HOUSE EMPTIED
<Gy Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
DUNEDIN", this day.
A particularly audacious theft was committed at Mosgiel this week. From his home in Dunodin Mr. W. H. Wilson took out to his house in Gordon Road a large quantity of house furnishings, valued at £1:50, but next day he found that almost everything had been removed. The haul included carpets, a hall runner, china and glassware, two clocks, about fifty pots of jam and preserves, and various household utensils. A ladder found under a new hanging lampshade indicates that the thief had been in the act of securing this additional trophy when he found it advisable to leave. It is clear that a car or lorry was used to remove the goods.
