MISSING IN CHINA.
Fate of Twenty Missionaries Unknown. TWELVE AUSTRALIANS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) PEKING, February 26. The greatest anxiety is felt regarding the safety of Mr. S. C. Frenchman, an Australian missionary, who established a station at Ning-kiang, south-west Shensij four years ago, and who was captured by bandits. The whereabouts of his wife, who is an Englishwoman, are also a mystery. Nothing has been heard of the Auckland missionary, Mr. Hayman, since the report, over a week ago, that he was still in Hunan.
The fate of 20 missionaries, including 12 Australians, in Shensi, is unknown.
