QUEEN STREET TRAFFIC.

No parking of cars should be allowed in Queen Street, and it.has always been a puzzle to me why it has been allowed. Tho ten minutes allowed at present is only a farce, and numbers of car owners or drivers simply make a grandstand of the street for just no long as they wish, and as has already been pointed out, pedestrians have two rows of parked cars to get through in crossing, besides the trams. The question of trains out or Queen Street has been raised at times, and there are certain motorists, no doubt, who would advocate this from a somewhat selfish motive and with tho one idea of having a free and unrestricted go-as-you-please. At present it ie only the trams that prevent more accidents by putting certain restrictions on motorist*.. The trams are the only real mode of safe travel. They are under control of trained and experienced men, who even have to undergo medical inspection as to fitness. I have seen time and time again throughout fifteen years of tram journeys, accidents averted through the promptness of the motorman in avoiding a crash with some harebrained motorist cutting right in front of his tram, and so I say, in every way for safety, civility and patience, leave the trams alone, and I hope that the Transport Board will never listen to any suggestions for keeping trams out of Queen Street, or they will be sorry, and the ambulances kept busy. 1 have been, and still am, a motorist of long standing. I have been a motorist almost since motor cars came into being, and I have no hesitation in stating that all the trouble in Queen Street is caused by motor vehicles, and they really arc a nuisance at times to themselves and everyone else, but certainly not so the trains—one knows where to look for them. MOTORIST AND ALERT PEDESTRIAN.
