GOVERNMENT TAXATION. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") TE AROHA, this day. The Government taxation paid by the Te Aroha Jockey Club in connection with their recent meeting amounted to £4498 10/5, made up as follows: — £ s d Totalisator tax 2,140 1 0 Dividend tax 2,OSS 11 0 Stakes tax 173 1 0 Amusement tax 87 17 5 Total £4,498 10 5
This is the highest amount paid by the club for some years. The club will show a substantial profit over the meeting. j
