CIVIL ENGINEERS.
NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual general meeting of the New Zealand Society of Civil Engineers was continued at the Auckland University College Hall yesterday afternoon. The president, Mr. D. Holderness, presided. Mr. J. H. Lee, of Wellington, read a paper to members on "The Development of the AC. Circuit Bleaker," and Mr. W. L. Newnham, of Wellington, a paper on "The Protection of Structural Steel." The election of officers for the coming year resulted:—President, Mr. H. Vickerman, Wellington; vice-president, Mr. J. McG. Wilkie, Dunedin; honorary treasurer. Mr. 'f. Marchbanks, 'Wellington; council, Mossis. F. M Corkill, Invercnrgill, I , ". W. Furkert, Wellington, V. W. MacLcan, Wellington, F. E. de Guerrier, Auckland, J. G. Lancaster, Wellington.
