STRANGE WEATHER.
COOL IN FEBRUARY. BELOW 50DEG. YESTERDAY. RAINFALL TOTAL MOUNTS. Yesterday was the coldest day this year, the minimum temperature recorded at Albert Park being 49 degrees Fahrenheit. At nine o'clock yesterday morning the air temperature was 67. This morning it was 10 degrees warmer. The weather is the more remarkable inasmuch as February is usually regarded as Auckland's hottest month." The rainfall for the 24-hour period ended at nine this morning was just over an inch, bringing the total for February to 0.61 in. As the average rainfall for this month is only S.lSin, this February's rainfall will be unusually heavy. Out of the 20 days of this month no fewer than 12 have been rainy. The barometer this morning stood at 29.77 in, a slight drop on yesterday's reading. At noon to-day the eky was overcast, and intermittent showers fell in various parts of the city and suburbs.
