SHIPS DELAY. WANGANELLA HELD UP Dispute With Stewards Ends in Disembarkation. UNION RESENTS DISMISSALS. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The liner "Wanganella, winch was to have, sailed for Auckland last nighr, carrying air mails, has been held up owing to a dispute with the stewards. The sailing of the vessel has been postponed indefinitely. The dispute arose when the Wangaiiella was between Melbourne and Sydney. A steward and stewardess, ■who, according to the Sydney manager, did not give satisfactory service, were given notice. Following a meeting of the stewards they gave 24 hours' notice, to become effective if tho steward, who is the union delegate on the vessel, and the stewardess were not reinstated. The dispute will be discussed by a meeting of the Stewards' Union to-day. All the passengers had boarded the Vessel before sailing time, but, after an announcement by the company that the departure had been postponed, they were obliged to disembark.

Seamen Demand Additional Trimmers.

JAMES COOK DELAYED. (Received 10.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The departure of the cargo steamer James Cook for New Zealand has been postponed indefinitely in consequence of the decision of the Seamen's Union to refuse to man the ship unless additional trimmers arc called for. The 6teamer James Cook, formerly the Norwegian freighter Belfri (2116 tons), which is to enter the Sydney-New Zealand timber service, arrived at Melbourne from Ne\vcastle-on-Tyne on January 30 last. Her outward voyage occupied 67 days, several heavy storms being encountered on the voyage. She is owned by Mr. H. C. Sleigh, of Melbourne. The Northern Steamship Company have been appointed local agents.

OTHER STEAMERS.

Niagara Due at Auckland Next Monday. MAY BRING AIR MAIL. In ordinary circumstances the "Wanganella would have arrived at Auckland next Friday morning. The next steamer from Sydney to Auckland will be the Union Company's Niagara. She is due to leave Sydney on Thursday next for Auckland and to arrive at Auckland next Monday. She is expected to carry the air mail.

The Monowai is due to leave Sydney on Friday next for Wellington, where she is due next Monday.

Air mail from New Zealand will leave Wellington by the Franconia on Thursday.
