ILLEGAL BAIT USED.
THOUT FISHERMAN FINED (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, this day. In a case brought before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this morning by the Auckland Acclimatisation Society's inspector, George Bradford was " charged with using illegal bait. The inspector stated defendant was caught fishing on January 13 in the upper reaches of the Waimiha River at Tiroa. A serious aspect of the case wae that two boys accompanying defendant were also using huhu grub, an illegal bait, and were not licenseholders. Walter Ormsby pleaded guilty to fishing for trout without a license. Fines of £3 and costs were inflicted in both cases.
