SHOT BY GUNMAN.
Siam Minister Wounded in
Neck and Arm.
SEQUEL TO KING'S ABDICATION
(Received 10 a.m.) BANGKOK, February 24. Luang Pibulasonggram, Minister of Defence, was wounded on entering his car after witnessing a football match, when a gunman shot him in the neck and arm with a pistol. The gunman was arrested. The Minister was taken to hospital. His condition is not serious.
Royalists regard him as largely responsible for the King leaving Siam. The majority desire the King's return hut Luang, as controller of the Army, dominates the position.
