DELIVERY OF MILK.

BREACHES OF REGULATIONS. WRONG BOTTLES USED. A Green Lane milk vendor, Harry Allkins, prosecuted by the Auckland Milk Council before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day, on a charge of delivering milk in bottles bearing another name, was fined 10/ and costs £1 0/6. Defendant, for whom Mr. Nutsford appeared, pleaded not guilty. Mr. J. R. Drummond, who prosecuted for the milk council, said the object of the council in making the regulation was relevant to the quality of milk. If it were open to a vendor to use the bottles of other vendors, the public would be misled.

Evidence was given by Claude H. Suisted and J. Griffiths, milk council inspectors, that in defendant's van were two bottles, full of milk, bearing the brand of a well-known milk vending firm.

In evidence, Allkins said the two bottles taken from his van did not bear the brand of another firm. He admitted that he had three or four bottles belonging to the firm mentioned in his (lepot, but denied that any was found in his milk van. Mrs. Allkins, in evidence, said she was positive that her husband had none of the bottles in his van.

The magistrate said he had no doubt that the inspectors' version was correct.

Delivery Made Late,

."A milkman who is always late is a nuisance," said the magistrate in fining E. Poison, a milk vendor who admitted that he had delivered milk at 9.30 a.m., an hour after the prescribed period. Poison was fined £ 1 and costs.
