Beef .—We yarded 146 head of beef, comprising 25 steers and 121 cows- and heifers, as against 73 head last week. The.quality was fully up to standard and, selling under a steady demand, values again ruled at last week's rates. Extra choice ox sold to £15/ per 1001b; choice and prime, £1 2/ to £1 4/; just killable, 18/ to £1 1/. Prime yOung cow and heifer beef, £1 1/ to £1 4/; just killable, 10/ to £1. Heavy prime steers ranged in price from £8 10/ to £9 a/; lighter, £7 15/ to £8 7/6; light, £6 15/: to £7 12/ C; small and unfinished, £3 10/ to £6 12/6. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, 10/ to £7 10/; } heavy, £5 5/ to;-£<3 7/6; lighter, £4 5/s'to . ;£5 2/6; others, £2 to £4 2/6. I N;Z. Loan and Mercantile .Agency Co. Beef.—We had a small entry of ox beef, and more than an average entry of ccw and heifer beef. All classes sold readiiy at late rates. Extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £0 15/ to £7 17/0; heavy, £5 10/ to £6 10/; lighter, £4 to £5 5/; light, £2 17/6 to £3 17/6; others, £1 5/ to £2 15/. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd. Beef.—Our entry of fat cattle numbered 230 head, as against 174 last week, and 105 cows and heifers. Our yarding of ox beef included many lines of choice cattle, and competition was again keen, with values remaining firm at late rates. Extra choice ox sold to 25/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 22/ to 24/; secondary and plain, 18/ to 20/. Prime young cow and heifer beef, 20/ to 22/; ordinary, 12/ to 17/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £10 to £10 17/6; heavy, £9 to £9 15/; lighter, £8 to £8 15/; light, £7 to £7 15/'; small and unfinished, £5 10/ to £6 10/.
