OTHER MARKETS.
WHERE ARE THEY?
(To the Editor.)
In Saturday's issue Mr. H. E. Rodwell, lecturer in economics at the Auckland University College, is reported to have said, inter alia, in his opinion New Zealand has plenty of other markets for its produce and should explore them as fully as possible. Now it is unfortunate that Mr. Rodwcll should hare kept this information a secret for so long, for new markets are exactly what New Zealand has been wanting for the last four years. Now that lie has let it out he may expect to find himself in a position similar to that of an alchemist who had discovered the philosopher's stone. He will be getting urgent and very agitated telephone messages from Wellington. Where are these new markets that have been eluding us for so long, anyway? Does Mr. Rodwell mean, perhaps, Denmark? Or is it Piteairn Island? J. PRICE.
